The idea is simple. There's a central topic, the List of the Day and people submit ideas, examples or anything else they think relates to the topic at hand.
For example, the List of the Day may be:

And some of the submissions may be:

Fans of Dilbert.com may remember a similar feature that was, sadly, discontinued due to performance issues. To be honest, that's where I got the idea, and I decided to implement it when Dilbert.com discontinued the feature. If the site gets enough traffic, I'll add voting capabilities, but that's down the road.
